Passages Sprinkler Head Freezes, Floods Girls Residence

Passages sustained serious water damage when on Thursday, February 15, a sprinkler head was activated due to freezing temperatures in the attic. The water leak started in one of the second floor girl's residence bathrooms and flooded both the first floor and basement.

All of the kids stayed at the Bridgewater Marriott Thursday night. By noon on Friday we were able to reopen the boys side. The girls side however will require some extensive repairs before they will be able to reoccupy.

Basement an hour after the flood. The ceiling still draining.

All water damaged sheet rock was removed.

All of the furniture is damaged beyond repair.

The water ran (backwards) through the ducts and into the furnace. The furnace has to be replaced.

Danielle Sutton, Passages TLP case manager

Danielle Sutton, case manager at Whitney House has moved case manager at Passages taking Nicole Franco's position. Danielle has done a fabulous job as our first case manager at Whitney House and is moving into this position in a challenging time, especially with all of the recent facility disruption. We all wish Danielle the very best in her new position.

Horizon Health Insurance Rate Adjustment

We have received our rate notification for 2007 from Horizon Health Insurance. I am happy to say that the rates have not changed dramatically. If you have Plan I your rate will remain the same (most employees). If you have Plan II or Plan III (only a few employees have these plans) your monthly payment will be increased only slightly. For specific rate changes for your individual situation please contact Barbara Kreutzer.

As always, thank you all for your continued hard work on behalf of our youth.

Sincerely,
