Welcome 2010!
Happy New Year to all!
Now that the holidays are behind us we look ahead to 2010 with anticipation and excitement for the future.
This year we hope to see the development of a new program, Bridge House (supported housing for youth aging out of the foster care system) and the enhancement of our existing programs, such as the two upcoming construction projects: My Place Recreation Room Project (beginning construction next week) and the Brahma Solar Project (going to bid next week).
We continue to explore options to expand our services to youth and we have recently explored new program initiatives with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (who will fund the first two years of Bridge House with a new $400,000 grant) and the Tri-County Care Maintenance Organization who has signed a contract for placement of youth at Brahma House. We are also actively in negotiation with neighboring county governments and the State Department of Children and Families for additional contracts.
We welcome our new governor, Governor Christie and look forward to working with the many new political appointees who will begin to take their places in the soon to be reorganized N.J. State government.
We also look forward to a new board meeting structure and a reorganization of the committee structure as we look to better posture our own internal management structures to be more responsive to the needs of our organization as it grows and as our environment becomes more complex.
I wish you all a happy and healthy New Year and look forward to working with each and every one of you on the challenges ahead.
