My Place II - We are getting close!

I am pleased to announce Robyn Edwards has been hired as our case manager for My Place II. Robyn has worked for both in- and out-patient behavioral health programs and comes to us with seven years experience. We welcome her to Somerset Home. She will be spending time training with the TLP/ILP and case management staff. Robyn will also be starting to work with a number of youth from our Passages program who are will become our first My Place II clients. Robyn started on Monday and can be reached at Passages and her email address is redwards@somersethome.org.

Our construction/renovation continues to progress nicely and we have seen big progress this week on the installation of the new kitchen counter, sink and appliances. The kitchen is finally coming together! Also, most of the painting is completed. We are expecting the furniture delivery next week and then, as soon as the final inspections are complete, we will open!

I'd also like to welcome Fred Von Horn who has been hired part-time to assist George and Gary with preparing My Place II to open. Fred is well known to Somerset Home as a volunteer and comes to us with tremendous experience and a lot of energy.

Welcome Robyn and Fred!

2006 Circle of Friends Award

Board Members Lisa Warren (L), Carolyn Zachary and Ray Fantuzzi attended the 2006 Circle of Friends Award Dinner.

On March 1, I was honored at a celebration recognizing 25 years of service on the Somerset County Youth Services Commission. The youth services commission is an organization that identifies needs in our community and develops programs to help solve those community problems. Programs created by the commission include the Twilight program at Vo-Tech, Pathways, Passages and many others. It is hard to believe it has been 25 years!

Employee Spotlight

Special Thank You---

So often there are open shifts in all programs and several staff never hesitate in stepping up to the task of filling in so the kids always have a consistent level of care.

A special thank you goes to Brahma House's Senior Youth Counselor, Kristina Daley, who has worked the last 25 of 38 weekend overnight shifts while the position has remained open.

And remember, refer a friend who stays employed with Somerset Home for six months and receive a $100 referral bonus!!!!

Please contact Carla Grabert for further information on the '8th Annual Run for Runaways' or for assistance in setting up your personal fundraising page.

As always, thank you all for your continued hard work on behalf of our youth.

Sincerely,
