Farewell Sarah
Sarah Smith, case manager extraordinaire has decided to move back to her home port of Norfolk, Virginia, much to our sad regret. "If I could load up Brahma House, all the kids and the staff and move them with me I would, but unfortunately that is not possible."
I have long thought that if I could bottle the southern charm possessed by Sarah and spread it around, the world would be a better place. We will all miss you very much!
New Minivan for My Place I
Last week our new 2006 Dodge Caravan was delivered to My Place I. Our newest van gets excellent gas mileage and has some great features such as a sliding doors on both sides.
Free Flu Shots for Somerset Home Employees
On Tuesday, November 15, between 4:00 and 5:00 PM at Passages we will once again be offering free flu shots for all Somerset Home employees. Family members may also get flu shots for our cost of $25 (make checks payable to Somerset Home). Please let your supervisor know so that we can get a rough count of how many to expect. Please try to come as close to 4:00 PM as possible.
Somerset Home's 401(k) Program
Contribution Type Balance Vested Percent Vested Balance Employee Pretax $6,319.49 100% $6,319.49 Employer Match $478.26 100% $478.26 Total $6,797.75 $6,797.75 This year Somerset Home started to match a portion of the employee contribution to the 401(k) plan. The chart above shows an actual account balance of one of our employees and highlights the employer match contributions for the first six months of this year. As you can see the employer match is nearly $500! The 401(k) program is an opportunity for you to have retirement funds deducted on a pre-tax basis and now with the employer match is a fantastic method of growing your retirement nest egg. If you don't have a 401(k) with Somerset Home and would like to begin to participate please see Barbara Kreutzer, administrative services manager.
The 7th annual Somerset Home Run for Runaways will be here before we know it! We still need major sponsors, ad sponsors, and volunteers to help with our big event on November 5, 2005. Please contact Carla Grabert or Tracey Costanzo if you would like to serve on the committee or help with one of the many tasks involved in this exciting event. Check out the web site at http://www.runforrunaways.com for more details. I look forward to seeing you there!
As always, thank you all for your continued hard work on behalf of our youth.
Sincerely,
