Passages Dumpster Fire
As the result of a cigarette thrown carelessly in with the cardboard recycling, the Passages dumpster enclosure caught fire and burned to the ground last Saturday night. Luckily no one was hurt and the fire was contained to a small area.
My Place II TLP
In the past week, a capital grant from the George A. Ohl, Jr. Trust has come in for $5,000. We expect My Place II to open for five youth this fall.
My Place I Capital Improvements
This week we received final notice on funding for the new deck at My Place I. A grant of $16,845 was received from the New Jersey Department of Human Services for this project which will fund approximately 85% of the expense. We hope to begin construction next month.
Run for Runaways - November 5, 2005
The 7th annual Somerset Home Run for Runaways will be here before we know it! We still need major sponsors, ad sponsors, and volunteers to help with our big event on November 5, 2005. Please contact Carla Grabert or Tracey Costanzo if you would like to serve on the committee or help with one of the many tasks involved in this exciting event. Check out the web site at http://www.runforrunaways.com for more details. I look forward to seeing you there!
As always, thank you all for your continued hard work on behalf of our youth.
Sincerely,
