Friends of Archie Chiles Tennis Tournament Fund Raising Event

Friends of Archie Chiles board members, Lloyd Booker (kneeling) and Sandra Fosselman (right) played my wife, Joanne and me in mixed doubles.

This year the Archie Chiles Tennis Tournament was held on August 13-14th at Colonial Park in Franklin Township. The partnership between the Somerset Home and the Friends of Archie Chiles has entered its sixth year. Proceeds from the annual event helps support Archie Chiles own scholarship programs and also programs of the Somerset Home. Nikki DeSouza and Alex Ciccone addressed the participants at the pre-tournament cocktail party on Friday evening and Lisa D'Ottavio attended the event to describe services offered by Somerset Home to tournament participants.

We are proud of our association with the Friends of Archie Chiles and look forward to next year's tournament!

We expect My Place II to open for five youth this fall.

This past week we were notified that Bristol-Myers Squibb funded our Street Smart HIV Prevention program. One of our board members, Dennis Flynn, who works at Bristol-Myers Squibb was instrumental in helping us get this important grant. Thank you Dennis for all your help in getting this project funded!

Run for Runaways - November 5, 2005

The 7th annual Somerset Home Run for Runaways will be here before we know it! We still need major sponsors, ad sponsors, and volunteers to help with our big event on November 5, 2005. Please contact Carla Grabert or Tracey Costanzo if you would like to serve on the committee or help with one of the many tasks involved in this exciting event. Check out the web site at http://www.runforrunaways.com for more details. I look forward to seeing you there!

As always, thank you all for your continued hard work on behalf of our youth.
