Somerset Home staff participate in "call-in day" to legislators
On June 9th many staff called in to their legislators to remind them of the importance of voting for a 4% increase to support the work of community based social services in New Jersey. I would like to thank everyone who was able to call in. We are hopeful that the legislature will listen to our pleas and provide us with an increase so that we can support our programs for the next state fiscal year.
Summer is here...
Our new summer schedule is about to begin and the kids shift from school to work and summer recreation programs. Please remember to congratulate all of our high school graduates and college-bound youth. We all look forward to a summer of productivity and fun!
Nikki DeSouza Appointed Acting Shelter Director
We welcome Nikki in her new role as acting shelter director replacing Jessica Jordan who left the agency last month. Nikki most recently worked as senior case manager at the Somerset Youth Shelter and has worked at the agency for six years in administration, street outreach, HIV prevention and school-based youth services.
My Place
Our progress continues on the new My Place Transitional Living Program and we hope to close on the building mid-July. Our plan is to open the program in the Fall of 2004.
